Meta is planning to launch a new chat facility called Channels on Facebook and Messenger, similar to Instagram. When this new feature is launched, content creators will be able to send messages, photos and polls on various topics directly to followers. Functionality testing of the Channels feature on Facebook and Messenger may begin soon.

Meta recently launched the Channels feature on Instagram as an experiment. Initially, a limited number of Instagram users got a chance to test this feature. Messages sent by content creators in the Channels feature on Instagram can only be seen by followers. As a result, Instagram public account users can also send messages and photos to followers only.

In the future, using the Channels feature, content creators will be able to host live Q&A sessions with followers. Not only that, there will also be opportunities for virtual discussions with multiple content creators.
